Description of a disease activity proforma for documentation of hidradenitis suppurativa severity and distribution, and suggestions for use as a patient‐reported outcome measure:

Abstract

The whole process is intuitive and can be completed in under five minutes using a combination of clinical examination and verbal patient questioning. The completed proforma enables the clinician to visualise a concise but comprehensive overview of HS activity and distribution for an individual patient. In addition to the patient reported outcomes, the International Hidradenitis Suppurativa Severity Scoring System¹ (IHS4) can be calculated from the data collected. We have found it a very helpful tool in the Newcastle regional HS clinic and think that colleagues may find it useful.
