Method for Visible Light‐Induced Photocatalytic Degradation of Methylparaben in Water Using Nanostructured Ag/AgBr@m‐WO3,
Version of Record online: 10 July 2019
Ag nanoparticles loaded AgBr‐mesoporous‐WO3 composite was synthesized, characterized and used as a photocatalyst in conjunction with visible light radiation for the photocatalytic degradation of methylparaben in water. This nanocomposites showed an enhanced photocatalytic degradation of methylparaben in water, which can be attributed to the significant reduction in the recombination of light‐induced electron‐hole pairs in the semiconductor composite, brought about by the formation of surface plasmonic resonance (SPR) due to the introduction of Ag NPs on the surface of the catalyst and also due to the formation of heterojunction between AgBr and mesoporous‐WO3 in Ag/AgBr@m‐WO3.
