Treatment Outcomes of Arytenoid Dislocation by Closed Reduction: A Multidimensional Evaluation This study aimed to investigate the treatment outcomes of arytenoid dislocation by a multidimensional evaluation. |
Nonselective Laryngeal Reinnervation versus Type 1 Thyroplasty in Patients with Unilateral Vocal Fold Paralysis: A Single Tertiary Centre Experience This study compared the voice outcomes of selected patients with unilateral vocal fold palsy (UVFP) who underwent either nonselective laryngeal reinnervation (LR) or Type 1 thyroplasty (thyroplasty) in a Malaysian tertiary centre using multidimensional voice assessments. |
A Computer-Based Tool for the Assessment of Voice Quality Through Visual Analogue Scales: VAS-Simplified Vocal Profile Analysis In this study we propose a new tool for the perceptual assessment of voice quality. For its design, we have adapted the Simplified Vocal Profile Analysis so that the new tool features two main characteristics: (1) the ordinal scalar degrees of the original protocol are turned into a visual analog scale; and (2) the original paper-based version of the protocol is now a computer-based implementation. In order to assess the reliability of the new tool, five phoneticians listened to 12 different speakers and evaluated their voice quality using the proposed tool. |
Validation of Acoustic Voice Quality Index Version 3.01 and Acoustic Breathiness Index in Korean Population This study aimed to verify the Acoustic Voice Quality Index (AVQI) version 3.01 and the Acoustic Breathiness Index (ABI) as tools for acoustic analyses in the Korean language. |
Inspiratory Vocal Fry: Anatomical and Physiological Aspects, Application in Speech Therapy, Vocal Pedagogy and Singing. A Pilot study Inspiratory Vocal Fry (IVF) is the voice production during inspiration of a sound with vocal fry perceptual characteristics. The existing scientific literature shows a lack of studies on it. The aim of the study is to highlight anatomical and physiological characteristics of IVF, to assess its effects on spoken and singing voice, to confirm the potential usefulness in speech therapy and vocal pedagogy. |
Comparing Contemporary Commercial and Classical Styles: Emotion Expression in Singing This study examines the acoustic correlates of the vocal expression of emotions in contemporary commercial music (CCM) and classical styles of singing. This information may be useful in improving the training of interpretation in singing. |
Risk Factors for Recurrent Perceived Voice Disorders in Elementary School Teachers—A Longitudinal Study To identify the progression of voice disorders and their risk factors in teachers. |
Cross-Cultural Adaptation, Validation, and Cutoff Values of the Chilean Version of the Voice Symptom Scale: VoiSS To evaluate psychometric properties of the Voice Symptom Scale (VoiSS) – Chilean Spanish version. |
Food Sensitivity and Laryngopharyngeal Reflux: Preliminary Observations Reflux is an expensive, high prevalence disease that affects at least half of patients with laryngeal and voice disorders. Approaches to treatment of laryngopharyngeal reflux include medical, lifestyle, dietary, and surgical treatment options.2 We review four patients who had persistent reflux signs and symptoms on appropriate lifestyle including elevating head of bed and dietary modifications, as well as antacid, H2 receptor blockers, and proton pump inhibitor therapy, who improved substantially on specific food avoidance diets. |
Maximum Phonation Time and Body Mass Index in Nondysphonic Eutrophic Children Literature presents controversial maximum phonation time values in children. |
