Separate pancreatic ducts draining into a type IV choledochal cyst: simultaneous anatomical variants in a child suffering from cholelithiasis and acute pancreatitis
Abstract The biliary tree and the pancreatic ducts originate from different buds of the primitive foregut. A plethora of anatomical variants and congenital anomalies have been described for both the biliary and the pancreatic duct systems, although they are usually asymptomatic. However, in some cases, these abnormalities can lead to serious clinical scenarios, especially when involving the biliopancreatic junction, with consequent mixing and reflux of the two different juices....

Discordant and heterogeneous clinically relevant genomic alterations in circulating tumor cells vs plasma DNA from men with metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer
Abstract Circulating tumor cell (CTC) and cell‐free (cf) DNA‐based genomic alterations are increasingly being used for clinical decision‐making in oncology. However, the concordance and discordance between paired CTC and cfDNA genomic profiles remain largely unknown. We performed comparative genomic hybridization (CGH) on CTCs and cfDNA, and low‐pass whole genome sequencing (lpWGS) on cfDNA to characterize genomic alterations (CNA) and tumor content in two independent prospective studies of 93 men...

Molecular characteristics of terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (TdT) negative precursor B‐cell phenotype Burkitt leukemia with IGH‐MYC rearrangement
Abstract Precursor B cell phenotype Burkitt lymphoma/leukemia with IGH‐MYC is a rare subtype of Burkitt lymphoma (BL). BL and B lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoma (B‐ALL/LBL) differ as regards treatment and the distinction between these two entities is crucial. Patients demonstrating a terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (TdT)‐positive precursor B cell phenotype with IGH‐MYC rearrangement have been reported to be molecularly distinct from BL and closer to B‐ALL/LBL. We investigated the molecular...

Relationship between P1NP, a biochemical marker of bone turnover, and bone mineral density in patients transitioned from alendronate to romosozumab or teriparatide: a post hoc analysis of the STRUCTURE trial
Abstract Introduction Procollagen type I N-terminal propeptide (P1NP), a bone formation marker, reportedly predicts bone mineral density (BMD) response to teriparatide treatment in treatment-naive patients with osteoporosis. Results from a randomized, phase 3, open-label, active-controlled trial— STRUCTURE—showed that in patients previously treated with bisphosphonates, romosozumab led to gains in hip BMD, which were not observed with...
