NTCP model for postoperative complications and one-year mortality after trimodality treatment in oesophageal cancer

NTCP model for postoperative complications and one-year mortality after trimodality treatment in oesophageal cancer: Radical resection has long been the mainstay of treatment in patients with locoregionally advanced oesophageal cancer. However, outcome with this single modality treatment was poor with five-year survival rates ranging between 14% and 35% [1]. In a quest to improve outcome, several neoadjuvant and adjuvant strategies using chemotherapy or chemoradiotherapy have been investigated [2,3]. Currently, preoperative chemoradiotherapy (preCRT) followed by surgery is considered standard of care in the treatment of locally advanced oesophageal cancer [4,5].
