Berardinelli Seip Congenital Lipodystrophy Syndrome: 10 Year Follow-up Abstract Lipodystrophy syndromes are extremely rare disorders of deficient body fat associated with potentially serious metabolic complications. Here, we describe a 10-year-old girl with genetically proven Berardinelli Seip congenital generalized lipodystrophy type 2, diagnosed at 10 months of age. She developed comorbidities like proteinuria, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and liver fibrosis.

School-age Children as Asymptomatic Malaria Reservoir in Tribal Villages of Bastar Region, Chhattisgarh Abstract Malaria is a major health concern in India, especially in regions populated by tribals. In this cross-sectional survey carried out in Bastar region of Chhattisgarh, 35 Plasmodium infections were detected in 451 participants screened during the non-transmission season; 27 (77.1%) were asymptomatic. Participants with age 6–14 years were at high risk of asymptomatic infection [OR 4.09, 95% CI, 1.69 to 9.89, P=0.001], and may act as an under-appreciated reservoir for sustained malaria transmission.

Paroxysmal Cold Hemoglobinuria in a 4-year-old Child Abstract Paroxysmal Cold Hemoglobinuria is a rare cause of intravascular hemolysis presenting in children following an acute viral illness. It is usually self-limiting in nature. We present the details of a 4-year-old boy who presented with rapid onset intravascular hemolysis. Donath Landsteiner antibody test was positive and hemolysis resolved within two weeks of onset.

Extra-nodal Kikuchi Disease and Kikuchi Encephalitis Abstract Kikuchi disease is a rare but benign, self-limiting disease that typically presents with prolonged fever and cervical lymphadenopathy. We report neurological manifestations in an adolescent girl with recurrent Kikuchi disease.
